7 KINDS OF HAPPINESS
Gain inspiration from progressive local and international design thinkers curated by Office For Good Design.
Is personal happiness a design problem? A universally desired goal, critics say we are statistically no happier than we were 50 years ago. Happiness is elusive – and even considered too private, superficial or subjective for designer to take seriously. Can designers create happiness and what kind of object and place make us most happy?
7 Kinds of Happiness: Conversations on Design and Emotion is a series of events, each exploring a different kind of happiness and which we use happiness as a lens for people to talk about what they do.
Speakers include: leading Design Critic & Journalist, Alice Rawsthorn (UK) & Architecture Collective Rotor (Brussels). Tickets on sale March 2012.
EBONY BAR
Located at the hub of designEX for 2012 is ‘Ebony’, a destination designed to meet the needs and wants of the most discerning bar hopper. Offering hospitality and entertainment in equal measures, the Ebony Bar will be a mandatory port of call for visitors and exhibitors seeking a celebratory libation or a quiet corner where business and pleasure can converge. From a quick drink at the Maxi Bar to unwinding in the Sri Lanka Lounge, the Ebony Bar will provide the necessary respite for the feet, and the mind.
