Principles of D4S feature:
Design for Sustainability (D4S) is about designing products in a way that reduces their environmental impact. The aim is to design products
that are functional, cost effective, and have no harmful side effects
for human health or the environment. For a sustainable future it is imperative that good design addresses environmental objectives.
Four Strategies of D4S Products
- Efficient design: keep the material and resource inputs to a minimum. Do more with less.
- Cyclic design: design to enable materials to be continuously cycled through natural or industrial systems.
- Safe design: avoid toxic and hazardous substances and processes. Keep human health in mind as well as ecological impacts.
- Communication: ensure product and packaging related communications are informative and accurate. Encourage responsible consumer behaviour.

How to become involved in D4S:
If you have a product that follows the principles of D4S listed above – simply fill in and return the application form. Once the application form is received it will be assessed by Sustainability Victoria for inclusion in the D4S.
We have put together a special exhibitor package for your inclusion in D4S following the principles listed above.
As

Testimonial
The exhibition was a resounding success from our perspective in Melbourne last year, and the opportunity for companies to exhibit under the profiled Sustainability Victoria banner has resulted in increased media attention for the products they exhibited in mainstream media.
